The Red Spherical Vase

The appeal of this vase is in its simplicity. The refined narrow top opens to a gracefully curved body.

The inspiration of this red beauty stems from Lady Yang Guifei (with Guifei being the highest rank for imperial consorts at her time). She was one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. Consort Yang was known for being slightly overweight, which was a much sought-after quality at the time.

We wanted to use this vase representation to remind ourselves how the definition of beauty has evolved over time. In the olden days, beauty is defined by how voluptuous a women is. In today's context, should we only be celebrating the beauty of being slim?

Sizes: 6", 7", 9"
